[Note: Her name is actually spelled “Mamie” (Frances & Edward, 1997). According to Edward, “the first grandchild, Joan Cunnie Adams, could not say ‘Grandmother’ at an early age, and, as is so often the case, a new moniker was derived--MAMIE. And it stuck for the rest of her life; even other family members picked up on it.”]
