I believe this was taken at the Jersey shore, and it was probably earlier than dinner. Daddy is at the head of the table, Mama to his right, Carl Uhlman to her right, but I don’t know the man and woman in the left foreground. Unknown Man to Daddy’s left, Helen Uhlman appears to be next, followed by Al Mongelli, Rae Mongelli, right foreground.  --FCH

This picture was taken at Al and Rae Mongelli's cabin in the Pocono Mountains (not the Jersey shore). The woman in the left foreground is Michaela (A/K/A "Mickey") and is Rae's sister. The man next to her is her husband who's name MAY be Victor.  --Aunt Statia, via Jan Wechsler

Edward F. Cunnie, c.1950s.
Copy of the photo in a newspaper or flyer. Since this photo appears in the background for a photo of Jim Cunnnie taken in the early 50s, Uncle Edward’s photo might date to the 40s actually. His dates: c.1895 to May, 1957.

[According to Statia, this photo accompanied a newspaper article that highlighted his work among the African American population at St. Elizabeth's parish in Philadelphia.]

Rene Cunnie and sisters, the boardwalk in Atlantic City, circa 1943

[According to Edward, “This was taken on the boardwalk in Atlantic City New Jersey.  Jim Mulvey was a very close friend of Issac and Emma Carpenter to the extent that he actually died in their home on Walnut street in Clifton Heights, PA (suburb of Phila).  In those days most folks died at home, usually a ’sick bed’ arrangement in the dining room of all places, not unlike a Hospice situation of today. Anyhow, Jim must have been such a good friend such that he spent his last days in his best friends’ home in a sick bed! I remember this quite vividly.

Anyhow, next to Jim on the right is Pauline Carpenter Hathaway, Rita Carpenter
Donovan, Irene Carpenter Cunnie, JHC, Emma Carpenter and Sarah (Salley) Carpenter Bozzet. We had a summer home in Sommers Point, NJ, and it was always full of relatives and friends. This looks like just another day in the life of the Cunnies at the shore. I would put this in a 1943 time frame.”]
